Odoo Payroll automatically calculates federal, state, and local taxes for your employees based on their residency and employment type and generates reports for you to file. This feature also supports reciprocity withholdings between states should you have employees who live and work in different tax jurisdictions. Complex tax situations such as employees who live in one state but work in another will automatically be calculated for you to report.
The Odoo Payroll tax calculation engine provides regular updates on a monthly basis to ensure ongoing compliance automatically.
Odoo Payroll allows you to define every aspect of your company’s payroll process so calculations can be run automatically each pay period. Reminders ensure you never miss a pay period and a confirmation step allows you to confirm payroll before running.
Set your company-wide overtime and double overtime rate, define your payroll frequency, and link your payroll account in settings. Payroll frequency can be set at the company level, or can be set for each employee individually. Configure payroll to run weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, semi-monthly, or at custom intervals as needed for teams, projects, and individuals. Define your company’s deductions and set deduction policies to create rules that can be applied such as percent matching.
Odoo Payroll will remind you to process payroll and give you the option to confirm prior to running. You can view compensation, deductions, and taxes for each pay period either company-wide or at an individual employee level. Once payroll is confirmed, you can post journal entries to submit to Odoo Accounting.
Odoo Payroll generates a report that can be filed with your bank to initiate direct deposit. Odoo Payroll also integrates with payment gateways such as Stripe to process direct deposit directly from Odoo to your employees. For employees that do not initialize direct deposit, Odoo Payroll allows you to generate and print paper checks and stubs. Pay stubs will be electronically stored and accessible through the employee portal.
Odoo Payroll provides full support for full-time, part-time, salaried and hourly employees as well as contractors. Create employee profiles to save their contact information, address, filing status, and deductions as well as payroll information such as frequency, payment method, and employment type. Odoo Payroll also allows you to view employee attendance, leave, time sheets, and working hours.
Employees also have access to self-service where they can view their contact information, withholdings, deductions, payroll history, pay stubs, tax forms, and more. Updates to contact information can be made quickly and easily and changes to withholdings and deductions can be handled online in employee-self service during open enrollment periods.
Some projects require unique tracking to ensure payment is issued properly to employees. Odoo Payroll supports many special cases including barcode scanning, platform login/logout, and time clocking to record project or task tracking and payment. This functionality can be integrated with hardware or software tracking to ensure that payment disbursement can be properly linked to each unique case.
In addition to supporting employee time tracking and compensation for internal projects, Odoo Payroll allows you to define projects for external projects billed to customers. Track your employees’ work on customer projects, invoice the customer accordingly, and Odoo Payroll will calculate compensation for your staff based on the time reported.
Odoo Payroll handles all employee deductions on company-wide and individual levels to ensure they are automatically calculated each payroll period. Manage your company benefits structure by defining your deduction policy for each benefit you provide. Employees can enroll in available benefits in their self-service portal upon being hired, during open enrollment, and following qualifying life events. Once enrolled, deductions will be calculated for each employee going forward.
Odoo Payroll also allows you to deduct garnishments so they can be issued to the reporting state. Manage the amount of time garnishment will occur, run reports, and submit payment to the correct agent.
